Betty Cook was a founder and pivotal member of Women Against Pit Closures travelling the country with Anne Scargill raising money for food kitchens and also joining the picket lines to save the jobs of her husband and two sons.
Betty talks about growing up and living in a pit community and the long battle to save the mines and jobs. Betty also talks about the sense of liberation she felt following the campaign which led to her returning to education and gaining a degree.
